I am a 13-year-old who loves mountain biking, skiing, and astrophotography! Capturing the stars and uncovering the hidden wonders of the night sky is my passion. This website began when a friend mentioned that my photos were amazing and suggested I sell them. After some thought, I realized they might indeed be worth sharing. While I know there are many other professional photos online, I offer mine at a more affordable price. If you choose to buy from me, I truly hope you enjoy your photo. see more below.
My whole life, I have been mountain biking. I truly love it and have gotten pretty good at it. My brother joined a mountain bike team called Chain Lynx when he was in middle school. Ever since then, I wanted to join too. This year, I finally got the chance, and it's been an amazing experience. We had races in August and September. In the first race, I placed 18th, which I was really proud of. In the next race, which the photo above shows, I placed 12th. During the next race, I was in first place and was going to win, but my chain broke. It was sad, but I moved on.
In January 2024, I was in Moab with my uncle, who was taking long exposures on his camera. I went with him and saw these incredible photos. Using my phone, I discovered that by turning the shutter speed really high, you can see almost everything, even in the dark. Since then, I have fallen in love with long exposures and astrophotography. I practiced almost every week, using my phone. Until around June when I got my camera. Since then, I have truly enjoyed taking photos of the stars and landscapes at night with both my camera and my phone.
My photos weren't great at first, but they got better each time. In August, I used RAW mode for the first time on my phone, which changed everything. Suddenly, the stars were so bright, and it really amazed me. In October, I had the chance to go to Zion for the first time in about 10 years. It was amazing. I set my phone on the edge of a cliff to take a time lapse with star trails while taking photos with my camera. After editing the photos, I got the red comet photo you see above, as well as the last frame of the star trail time lapse. I erased the satellites and other distractions and edited the photo to get that amazing shot.
The purple and pink photos you see above are from Crater Lake in August. I liked the photos and didn't edit them until December, which made them so much better. This led me to the idea of selling them, which brings me to where I am now, nearly 2025. I can't wait to see where this next year takes me!
Its now may. I haven't really done much. after buying a new domain and changing my website from, "www.utahhasastrophotography.com" to a much more simple utahastro.com. Im proud to anounce I am getting a new camera to add to the fleet. and will be speeding things up a bit. I hope to use shopify and sell my photos more.
